The rice and vegetable dishes stall is a very common meal for local Singaporean and in Singapore as it is a very traditional way of having various dishes spread across with different verities to select and goes well with steam rice or porridge.
Rice and vegetable dishes stall can be seen all over Singapore such as Coffee shops, Restaurants and Food courts.
It is also commonly know as in chinese.
One of the famous rice and vegetable dishes stall that I use to patronize at Tanjong Pagar Food Market ( very near Tanjong Pagar MRT Station) second floor,
The stall name is known as Ming Kee Cooked Food.
It is being run and managed by a husband and wife team together with his younger sister.
The traditional recipe for all the dishes are being handled over from their parent whom had started the business since 1978.
Their famous dishes was also featured on local TV media programs such as Channel 8 Pai Pai Zan:
A plate of cooked food with rice and vegetables costs about $2.40 to $5 depending on the selection of the dishes + rice. During lunch time can expect to wait for 20 to 30 minutes in order to take your order for the food and ready to be served.
Some of their famous dishes are as follows:
Omelette eggs with mince port and onions or eggs with long beans.
port chop or chicken chop.
fried fish fitter.
curry vegetable with potatoes.
This is the plate of cooked food rice with vegetable meal that I have purchased from them during lunch time. It comes with sweet and sour port, potatoes and broccoli vegetable.
Recently, I have noticed that they are selling their home made traditional Belachan chilli paste that comes in a bottle. I think each bottle costs $4.50. It will be good to double check with them the actual priee. Order can be made online via http://mingkeerice.com/ .
The other Rice and Vegetable dishes stall that I do patronize occasionally is also known as Jia Mei Mixed Veg Dish Rice (located at Tanjong Pagar Food market , 2nd Floor). Usually the queue is not long and may take about 1 to 2 minutes to take your order and ready to be served.
